Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)-October 6.

Acoem has garnered a global reputation for being a trusted partner in end-to-end solutions for the environmental monitoring sector – including significant leadership in air + gas, particulate, CEMS, noise + vibration and atmospheric conditions of tunnels. The organisation is committed to evolving and growing its capacity to meet the needs of its customers in markets around the world. Today, it is proud to welcome long-time distribution partner JCTM Brazil into the fold.

Nearly 30 years of local presence in the Brazilian market

Brazil has been a significant market for Acoem, since its noise and vibration arm opened its first office there in 1995. Until now, its operations focussed largely on noise and vibration environmental solutions and industrial vibration measurement. With the acquisition of JCTM (which will be known as Acoem Ambiental), Acoem is now in the position to be able to expand its service offering in South America and focus on greater growth across all its environmental solutions in the region.

Based in Rio de Janeiro, JCTM is well-known as a successful integrator of environmental monitoring products and services and is a provider of choice of government, research institutions, environmental consultants & industries across Brazil.

For more than two decades JCTM has been working as a valued Acoem distribution partner specialising in its air/gas and particulate/meteorology, so becoming part of Acoem was a natural and logical next step. JCTM was responsible for the local support and deployment of the first air quality monitoring stations in Brazil and has played an integral role in pollution control and ongoing climate research across the country.

The coming together of Acoem of JCTM has been several years in the making, driven on the ground by Acoem Brazil Country Operating Officer and Vice President of Sales, South America, Henrique Abrão.

“The signing of our partnership agreement today represents a new momentum for Acoem Brazil and will be the foundation for our ability to offer our entire portfolio under one roof and further expand our services across South America. Being able to give our Acoem customers and partners all the support they need for air quality, and noise and vibration solutions through the JCTM team is the perfect outcome.”

A complete environmental service centre for closer customer and partner proximity

This acquisition will give Acoem local resources to grow its presence in South America, combined with the expertise of its seasoned founder Jose Claudio Rosa Souza, who will remain with the business. Acoem and JCTM have highly synergistic service capabilities and the acquisition provides further evidence of Acoem’s commitment to continually growing its environmental monitoring business by joining forces with like-minded organisations.
Key to the merger was a complementary services portfolio and a focus on creating exceptional human experiences aimed at driving success for customers. Both companies have built a culture of imaginative, passionate people, who are driven to build value for customers across challenging markets such as environmental protection agencies, airports, mine sites and metal processing industries. Both organisations are keen to leverage the positive multiplier effects of bringing people and technology together to create seamless customer journeys.

“I am proud, but also very confident and enthusiastic about this union between Acoem and JCTM. Becoming part of the Acoem group with its extensive expertise in operating complete stations for monitoring gases, particulates and meteorology is going to be a win-win for our customers.
Together, the strength of our teams and being able to provide the entire line of Acoem environmental monitoring products and services, will make us an even more powerful force in the South American environmental management market. We look forward to better servicing customers and meeting their demand for technologically-advanced Acoem solutions.”  said Jose Claudio Rosa Souza, JCTM CEO.

Solidifying Acoem’s strategic development in South America, and ability to serve the Brazilian market

Brazil is an historically important market for the company and in the future, South America is likely to play a much larger role in the business, certainly from an environmental monitoring perspective.

For Acoem Brazil, the 2021 integration of Met One solutions into the company’s environmental portfolio and now JCTM with its service centre and technical expertise all combine perfectly to put it in a market leadership position. Acoem Brazil can address the critical challenges faced by its environmental and industrial customers in real time using an entire suite of connected data and tools to provide a more proactive approach.
With stronger infrastructure in place, bolstered by a team of nearly 125 employees, Acoem is focused on providing the highest level of support to the South American region.

Evolem, a major shareholder and backer of Acoem, is equally enthusiastic about the JCTM acquisition, citing that “it will continue to support Acoem in its quest for greater international growth.”

Fabien Condemine, Acoem CEO :
“As a long-standing distribution partner with a great reputation for system integration, JCTM is the perfect addition to the Acoem family and will play an integral role in our exciting future in the region,

Bringing JCTM on board aligns perfectly with our long-term strategic direction of broadening our ability to service customers and provide them with a full suite of Acoem environment solutions – including deployment, remote management, service, calibration, training and data reporting – delivered on the ground by local experts.

This significant acquisition also marks a major milestone for Acoem – we now have over 1000 employees and €150 in annual million turnover.”
