SCG Standardizes Reliability Across 5 Plants with ACOEM's "One Brand" Monitoring Solution

Customer Name: SCG (Siam Cement Group)

Application: Cement Manufacturing

Location: Thailand

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Seeking a unified solution, Thailand’s largest cement company, SCG, partnered with ACOEM and local partner FAAD to standardize condition monitoring across five major plants. They implemented a large-scale hybrid system combining ACOEM MVX, FALCON, EAGLE, and later AT400 technologies, covering ~1,300 critical points, including data from online, portable, and wireless systems. This successful standardization of FALCON and MVX across multiple sites, along with the adoption of AT400 for shaft alignment, led to bulk orders, including more than 140 MVX units, cementing Acoem as SCG’s core reliability partner.

The Challenge

SCG needed to consolidate its machine monitoring across five plants onto a single, standardized platform. Managing disparate systems created data silos, analysis inefficiencies, and hindered consistent reliability strategies. The goal was a unified database and platform covering critical assets (~1,300 points) to streamline maintenance and improve corporate oversight.

The Solution

Building on a long-standing relationship, SCG and partner FAAD deployed a comprehensive ACOEM ecosystem. The hybrid solution included:

  • ACOEM MVX for online monitoring (140+ units, including Kiln monitoring).
  • ACOEM FALCON for portable analysis.
  • ACOEM EAGLE wireless sensors.
  • ACOEM AT400 alignment systems.
  • A centralized NEST Software Platform (implied) integrating data via Ignition OPC UA.

ACOEM was chosen for its broad portfolio, proven success, user-friendly tools, and strong local support via FAAD. The solution standardized FALCON and MVX across multiple sites, providing a consistent approach to condition monitoring.

The Results

The standardization project was highly successful, resulting in significant investment and broad implementation:

  • A unified monitoring platform was established across all 5 plants.
  • The system covers critical machinery plant-wide (e.g., one plant has 778 sensors).
  • Following pilot tests, SCG placed bulk orders (+140 MVX, FALCON, first AT400s in Asia).

The Impact

ACOEM is now central to SCG’s reliability strategy, driving efficiency and consistency.

  • SCG benefits from a unified view of asset health, including online, portable, and wireless data, simplifying analysis and decision-making.
  • Standardization improves training and likely optimizes resource management.
  • The large-scale deployment confirms deep trust, solidifying ACOEM/FAAD as the primary reliability partner, with potential for future expansions.
