Monitoring of key particulate size fractions with ease
Also being showcased at EAC 2023 is the Acoem Met One ES-405. A simultaneous particulate profiler, it offers researchers vital information about aerosol concentrations in different size fractions (PM10, PM4, PM2.5 and PM1) simultaneously.
Quick to install and simple to operate, this optical instrument requires no filters and is ideally suited for use in emergency operations such as fires, public health issues and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) situations where fast deployment can make all the difference – outdoors or indoors. Communicating directly with your mobile network, it can gather data from different points succinctly and help inform fast decision making on the ground. The ES-405 is also currently undergoing testing by Airparif.
According to Keith Webster, Acoem Environment Regional Business Manager, despite EAC being a distinctly European-focused event, it is very much a global gathering that sets a benchmark for progress in the field of aerosol mitigation and management around the world.
“Europe is a more mature market in terms of air quality measurement and its researchers are already investigating new pathways to make our environment better. What they are researching today will likely lead to the mainstream instruments of tomorrow,” he said.
“With countries like Switzerland recently voting to cut fossil fuel use and reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, there is a greater focus on priorities like black carbon in addition to key particulates. For this reason, instruments like the Aurora NE-400 Polar, the C-12, and the ES-405 will be crucial in the continual search for global environmental solutions,” he added.
