Responding to a changing environment with future-focused air quality monitoring solutions

Acoem @ CASANZ 2024 Clean Air Conference

The theme of this year’s Clean Air Society or Australia and New Zealand (CASANZ) biennial conference is ‘clean air for all – responding to a changing environment’ – a critical challenge and target as the global research community, governments and concerned industries continue to focus on strategies to protect populations from increasing levels of air pollution and its associated health risks.

Acoem has been participating at CASANZ events for over 4 decades – and has been committed to developing the most effective air quality monitoring solutions since its inception – in the suburbs of Melbourne in 1976.

In pursuit of clean air for all

At the 2024 Clean Air Conference in Hobart (26-28 August), Acoem will once again demonstrate its leadership position in working towards ‘clean air for all’ by presenting three papers. Download the conference app for more details.

Acoem will also be exhibiting a suite of its ambient air quality monitoring systems – each designed to make the process of acquiring relevant, real-time and accurate air quality data easier and more accessible.

This year, the Acoem team also takes centre stage at the conference as they present two papers – each showcase insights and innovations that are shaping the future of air quality and environmental monitoring.

A partnership of scientific and engineering excellence in the Acoem Era

After 45 years of trading under the Ecotech name and cementing a global reputation for excellence in environmental monitoring, the company became an integral part of the Acoem group. The united Acoem organisation is now made up of close to 1000 employees, 6 manufacturing facilities and 5 R&D centres in 9 countries with 200+ distributors — providing trusted, holistic data solutions for our customers in nearly 100 countries and creating environments of possibility for all.

But the decades-long relationship with the Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand (CASANZ) continues with Acoem’s gold sponsorship of the event, which will be held in Hobart, Tasmania from 26 to 28 August.

The Acoem team – made up of Grant Kassell, Acoem Australasia Engineering, Research and Development Manager and air quality specialists Liz Edwards and Chris White, will be showcasing:

Solutions for every air quality application

The top-of-the-line Aurora NE-400 polar integrating nephelometer – the instrument of choice of environmental research organisations around the world, helping determine the phase function of aerosols and bring climate research/modelling projects to life with precision data. Learn more by attending the Improved aerosol measurement for air quality studies presentation by Grant Kassell, Dr Jost Lavric and David Logan.

Our simultaneous particulate profiler, the ES-405 – a rugged and weatherproof near-reference sensor for accurate real-time measurements of TSP*, PM10, PM4, PM2.5 and PM1 particulate concentrations simultaneously, both indoor and outdoor. Learn more about the ES-405 by attending Grant Kassell’s Evaluating different options for construction site particulate monitoring presentation, detailing a year-long monitoring project at Bridgewater Bridge – Tasmania’s largest-ever transport infrastructure project.

The rack-mountable Serinus® 60 – Acoem’s signature direct nitrogen dioxide analyser with Cavity Attenuated Phase Shift (CAPS) spectroscopy technology. This simple analyser lets you easily measures the level of NO2 in the measurement cell over an average path length of several kilometres, with no converter, high vacuum, ozone or chemical reactions required.

Fusion 4G – Complementing the range of air quality monitoring solutions is Acoem’s Class 1 4G sound level meter designed for environmental, building acoustics, vibration and health & safety measurements.

Kunak AIR Pro – the near-reference multi sensor-based station measures up to 5 gases and PM at the same time, including CO, CO2, NO , NO2, O3, SO2, H2S, NH3, COVs, PM1, PM2.5, PM4, PM10, TSP and TPC, as well a temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure and dew point.

The Fidas fine dust aerosol spectrometer – the only optical fine dust measurement system that offers single particle analysis for the PM10 and PM2.5 in a plug-and-play remote sensor sampling system, making installation in stations with existing roof penetrations easy.

The event will also introduce the new Acoem Met One BAM-1022-PLUS. The newest addition to Acoem Environment’s ambient air quality monitoring family, this is now the most sensitive and accurate BAM monitor available in the world, with nearly double the sensitivity of the standard BAM 1022 instrument

The intuitive interface, remote access Congrego® – the data management platform that connects environmental sensors, analysers and instruments from various manufacturers to effortlessly support numerous ambient air and CEMS instruments simultaneously, providing all the accurate, real-time data you need in one place.

Airodis – environmental data collection, validation and reporting software platform that integrates seamlessly with Acoem instruments and systems to maximise productivity while ensuring accuracy and traceability
