Don’t wait - Trade in or retrofit your 3G-enabled Acoem noise & vibration instrument to 4G today – before networks turn 3G off across Australia & NZ in 2024

Telstra, Australia’s main telecommunications network, recently announced that it will no longer support 3G connectivity as of June 2024. Networks in New Zealand will also commence a 3G shutdown next year. For many environmental monitoring device owners, this means that their instruments will become inoperable and redundant. Some have already felt the effects of limited 3G connectivity as changes are rolled out. Fortunately, this isn’t the case for Acoem noise meters and monitors. Acoem has introduced a simple, efficient and affordable pathway to retrofit, upgrade or trade in their current equipment for the new Acoem 4G Cube or 4G Fusion.

Upgrade Duo 3G to a new 4G Fusion with all the Duo’s functionality built in

While Acoem will not be releasing a 4G version of the Duo smart noise monitor, it has created a solution that takes full advantage of the instrument’s capabilities. Duo owners can simply send their monitor together with all its accessories to the ISO 17025 & NATA-accredited Service & Calibration Centre located at Acoem Australasia’s headquarters in Melbourne. The expert Acoem service technicians will dismantle the unit, removing its microphone, nose cone, back cover, mounting profile and integral windscreen.

They will then integrate those components into a new, bare 4G Fusion so owners will receive a totally new monitor with all the functionality of the Duo built in. The new instrument will be fully inspected, serviced and calibrated to mandatory NATA-accredited standards before being returned to the customer. The total cost of the Duo trade-in program is less than half the price of purchasing a new 4G Fusion with accessories, plus it comes with a full Acoem two-year international warranty.

Upgrade 3G Fusion or Cube™ to 4G seamlessly

Acoem noise monitoring instruments are designed to be upgradable, so for those who already own a Fusion or Cube with 3G connectivity, a retrofit upgrade to 4G is now available. Customers just send their Cube or Fusion instrument to the Acoem Australasia Service & Calibration Centre and Acoem technicians will install all the required boards and components to enhance connectivity and offer higher transmission speeds using 4G networks — no external modem required.

The upgraded 4G instrument will then be fully inspected and serviced. We also recommend that customers use this opportunity to have their instruments professionally calibrated with our NATA-accredited calibration service. With continuity, no data loss and the cost and time savings of not needing to purchase new equipment, Acoem is extending the lifecycle of critical monitoring equipment.
